This is the best magnetic tool, I finally got one. It sure does hold the spark plugs in place when you are removing the old ones from your vehicle, the results speak for themselves, I put my trust in this tool. I sure needed it for my 97 Ford F-150 4.6 Liter engine for the farther back 2 plugs on cylinders 4 & 8 cause it can be difficult at time, it out beats a standard 5/8 wrench diameter, cause they will let the plugs stay in when you go to try and pull it out. I would buy this again and again. I recommend it to anyone. And when you go to put a new plug in the magnetic, it strongly holds it in place as you begin to put it in the cylinder hear and tighter it up, just remember to not strip the thread when tightening the plugs. Go for one, you won't regret it after all. It does it's job as it says it should do.

Awesome socket for plugs but it's too short for the plugs in a ford V10. The end of the socket just reaches the hex on the plug so you can't tighten them down. Really annoying. I haven't used it on any other vehicles yet as most don't have 9/16" plugs. I bought it just to do the plugs on our work truck and it didn't work. Hopefully it'll be more successful if i ever get to use it again

Comments about Gear Wrench 5/8" x 6" Magnetic Swivel Spark Plug Socket:

Excellent. Magnetic ring holds spark plugs firmly. It attaches easily to my 3/8-inch drive. Far better than the "T-Type" spark plug wrench I've used in the past. Make removal and insertion of spark plugs quite easly.

Comments about Gear Wrench 5/8" x 6" Magnetic Swivel Spark Plug Socket:

This is one of my favorite tools. I never have to worry about the plug falling into the head messing up my gap. The pivot is an added bonus making the hard to reach plugs easy to get to. This one is a no brainer!

Comments about Gear Wrench 5/8" x 6" Magnetic Swivel Spark Plug Socket:

I was skeptical, but this thing was awesome! The plugs on a 5.7L Hemi are finicky and hard to get to, but using a standard plug socket often leaves the socket attached to the plug after install when it separates from the extension. The magnet on this is strong enough to hold the plug, but not strong enough to hold it after you've installed the plug.

      • Q:

        Hi,
I have a 2000 Toyota Camry Solara SE, 2.2. (5SFE). I was going to swap out my spark plugs
with Denso PK20TR11 that requires a 5/8 drive. As my Solara has a front strut bar the usual socket
and 6in extension is too big and the ratchet won't fit underneath the strut bar.

Will this magnetic swivel socket get around this problem?

        Thanks!
Asked on 9/9/2016 by KitK from Clarklake MI

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Yes, KitK! This Gear Wrench Magnetic Swivel Spark Plug Socket - Part No. 80546 will remove the Denso Spark Plug PK20TR11 on your 2000 Toyota Camry. The knurled grip on the shaft of the tool provides you with a non-slip surface for low torque applications. The interior magnet inside of the socket retains and protects the spark plug for easier installation and doesn't wear out over time like a traditional rubber gasket. An extension, and a universal joint, all in one provide 360° swivel action.
