Nice and big so oil doesn't get everywhere when draining the pan and filter. Holds tons of fluid, but I only ever have a max of about 6 quarts in it because it'll start to slosh around when you pick it up. It cleans out easily with a rag and is pretty easy to pour into a container (w/a funnel of course). The plastic is a little thin in my opinion, so hopefully it holds up over years of being slid on the garage floor.

big, but a little too big for my cars

a bit cumbersome, but really cheap ([$]) makes it a good deal for a truck or high clearance vehicle.

Diesel owners need one of these at your home shop..

Comments about FloTool 5 Gallon Drain Pan:

If you have a diesel pick up, you need one of these. Large capacity for the up to THREE gallons of oil these engines hold. Pour spout is a hell of lot easier to control when emptying. Rigid too, so won't flop around while picking it up with 11 quarts of hot oil. Good pan.

I bought this to use to drain coolant while replacing radiator. Thanks to the the big enough size, I did not have to worry about overflowing while doing the job.

Comments about FloTool 5 Gallon Drain Pan:

Brought it to do an oil change because my old catch pan broke. I have had many but this one put it down and your done. The wide opening catches all the fluids. and the lip on the top keeps it from spilling over on that first big purge when the drain plug comes out. Easy pour spout allows it to be drained back into the container for easy disposal. Highly recommended.

Reasonable priced catch pan

Pros

  • Nice Big Opening F

Cons

  • Screw Cap Weak

Best Uses

  • Oil Change Or Gene

Comments about FloTool 5 Gallon Drain Pan:

This is a great catch pan for fluids and or oil change. It has a nice stable bottom. The only part which needs improvement is the pour spout screw cap is a little cheap on design. Since there is no top cover, the pour spout really doesn't need a lid, but since it has one it would make sense to have a decent cap. I have not used the item yet with hot oil from a car, so I am hoping the plastic is capable of withstanding direct drainage of hot oil into the pan. I think anyone who needs a lightweight, easily storable pan for fluid capture should consider this option.

Great drip pan!

By

from Appleton,WI

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Large size
  • Lip around the rim prevents spills
  • Solid material

Cons

  • Drain needs more funnel shape
  • Plastic design holds onto oil

Best Uses

Comments about FloTool 5 Gallon Drain Pan:

This is a great drain pain for the price! It beats the cheap ones that fold in on themselves with 5qts of oil. This one is a strong structure for your everyday car or truck oil change. Sides are deep and the size is large to make sure you dont miss the pan and hit the garage from splatters. The added lip on the rim helps a lot with pouring used oil out. The drain is a good addition but would benefit from a redesign on the opening to the drain to allow oil to flow into the drain better and the plastic valleys and designs hold on to pesky oil makes cleaning it require a little mlre work. Great purchase otherwise, would buy again, it gets the job done!

Honestly, for the money, this is a really decent pan. It could be a few mils thicker, but then it wouldn't be as cheap. For home use, buy it.
