Great Gasket, Ignore The Instructions

Overall it's a nice gasket, definitely could be reusable if you install it right. The included directions specifically say to install it dry without using any rtv. Well tried that and I was leaking at least 1/2 a quart a day. Bought another one and discovered the original was still plenty usable. This time I used a light bead of rtv on both sides of the gasket and now no leaks. Also line up your bolts through the pan and gasket before you install it. The gasket will retain the bolts and make it much easier.
Best Gasket ever used
I've dropped the pan more times for more reasons than changing a filter. Best gasket I've used by far. No Sealer needed, bolts stay in while putting back and no need to over torque.....and No Leaks.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

In my opinion this is better than cork. It is also better than the waded up gaskets you get in the filter replacement box. I used a very little gasket sealer on the pan side, then put on the gasket, then started all the bolts in the under size bolt holes in the gasket. The gasket will hold the bolts in place, then just hold pan up and start the bolts. Make sure to torque all bolts to the factory specs in criss cross fashion, for no leaks.
