Comments about Driveworks Water Pump - Remanufactured:

Hard to install, not because of the water pump but because it was going in a Concorde LXi. Had to remove the leading edge; bummer cover, radiator, and headlights.

  • Q:

How do I replace the water pump on a 1999 Dodge Intrepid ES 3.2 L?
Asked on 2/18/2014 by Angie from Kansas City, Ks

    1 answer

Hi Angie, glad to assist you! Installation instructions: Inspect the new water pump to ensure it's identical to the old pump and free of any metal splinters or debris. Arrange the new water pump on the mount. You won't need sealant for the o-ring on a Dodge Intrepid. Hold the water pump and o-ring in place as you secure it with the new bolts. Tighten them with a torque wrench to 105 inch pounds torque in any order. Install the timing belt and wires, using the grease pencil marks to guide you in installation. Install the rest of the parts in the order removed. The camshaft must be reconnected with a torque wrench at 125 foot pounds torque. Replace the radiator's drain plug and refill the radiator with the amount and type of coolant specified in your owner's manual. Release the jack and jack stands. Attach the negative battery cable to the post and tighten the screw on the clamp. Crank the Dodge Intrepid's engine and check for leaks. Then, close the hood. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes or Chilton repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

  • Q:

do i have to deal with the timing belt to install this water pump& how much time is estimated thank you butch maple hts,
    Asked on 4/23/2012 by Anonymous

    1 answer

When installing the water pump, you have to mark the timing belt's position in each pulley before removal. If needed, replace the timing belt. The estimated time of replacing the water pump depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience.

How much does it cost to replace a water pump in a 2000 Chrysler Concorde LXI. I need a ball park figure for Bardstown KY? I have a mechanic that is telling me $450.00. I think this is very high? Please advise. Thank You Susan Marlow

Sorry, we are not sure about the ball park figure for installing the water pump. It purely depends on the skill set of the mechanic who is performing the job.
