Q:am using the DORMAN 924-600 Shift Linkage Repair Kit To install on existing shift lever how do I remove old? And install this new one?
A:Hi Joe! We strive to have all of the information available to our customers when shopping on our website. There are times when the manufacturer does not provide all of the information a customer may require. In this case, even DORMAN does not have the installation links listed. However, we have sent this Dorman - OE Solutions Shift Linkage Repair Kit (Part No. 924-600) installation instructions to your email address.
Q:I am using the DORMAN 924-600 Shift Linkage Repair Kit to replace the bad one on my 2004 Cadillac CTS. I am clear on how to remove the old bushing rod. But, I am not clear on how the new bushing is secured in place. Do I just need to peen the end so that it will not come out?
A:I'm happy to help, George! This Dorman Shift Linkage Repair Kit (Part No. 924-600) is installed into the 2004 Cadillac CTS by placing the urethane washer over the pivot pin and then inserting the pin and washer into the lever. The urethane bushing is then pressed over the pin and then the nylon washer is installed on the pin. The link is placed over the pin and the steel washer over the link. Last, the "C" clip is slid onto the pin groove until it snaps into place.
