30 minutes to replace.
I used rust penetrant on two top retaining screws beforehand. Breaking one will make this difficult.
OEM fan had metal clips on the bottom retaining tabs which are NOT required on new fan.
New fan came with electrical plug adapter (you need this). Others complained about not having correct plug end. Should be in the box (loose).
I used electric grease on the connections.
The plastic barb that secures the wire to the housing was too small, I had to reuse the original.
This replacement is whisper quiet. The OEM unit made a loud whirl noise since new. Fan blade geometry is not the same as OEM.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Radiator Fan Assembly Without Controller:

I bought this to replace a frozen fan assembly with a fried motor. I have had it for several months and I was initially concerned that it would provide less airflow as it has fewer blades than the original, but it has actually kept the engine cooler while hauling a loaded trailer. Installation in a 2001 Jeep Cherokee was actually simple; really. Hopefully it will last the remaining life of the vehicle.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Radiator Fan Assembly Without Controller:

I bought this for my 2000 Cherokee. The old one was shot. I ordered online and picked up the next day. It fit right in where the old one was. I only had to remove 1 bolt and a zip tie and the old one came right out and this one went right in with the same bolt and a new zip tie. It runs nicely and faster than the old one, and a little louder, so don't be caught off guard if you hear it kick on. The blades are bigger too so the airflow is nice. It comes with the adapter too that goes from the existing connection in the motor to the connection on the new fan. I just tucked it in and zip tied it after installation, which took maybe 15 minutes.

I have purchased this product, installed it and still seem to have problems when I an waiting for the light to change, the temp goes up 20 degrees and my ac doesn't blow cold until I get moving, I felt the front end and rather than cool the engine , it seems to be blowing out the front rather than sucking in air. Is it possible the blade was installed in the wrong direction????, the part can only fit one way, still gets hot at lights help please...

                    A:

Hi, I'm happy to help! Even if the blade is installed in wrong direction you will not see much difference in the performance. You will see just 1 or 2 degrees in difference and not 20 degrees. I assume the issue is different from wrong installation. You may check with the nearest Advance store to proceed further with your order.

Before buying I am trying to verify if this the correct fan for my 96 Jeep. The fan I need is the electric/temperature controlled radiator fan that is sometimes reffered to as the "AC Fan"? Is this the correct part?

PS. The belt driven fan is working, so I don't need that one.

Does this fan have a built in temperature sensor? The one I have is running constantly after I turn off the engine even in cool weather. I recently changed the thermostat so I'm thinking the fan is not sensing the temperature.
