I checked the installation suggestions online first. I set up the new unit nearby and as I removed screws and bolts, I placed them in the new, staged unit so I got it back together correctly.
The original alternator bracket fit perfectly, although the instructions said that it wouldn't.
Of course, IF the instructions were not folded and under the flap in the box, I would have seen them BEFORE I had the installation finished. I left the gaskets in place and the instruction sheet says that they are not required in the new installation. The car runs fine but this was another thing that may have been helpful BEFORE I had the thing completely installed.Tear-down 1 h, 45 min., completed installation 1 1/2 hours more.

So far this intake is doing the job. However oem units have brass inserts for the coils and bracketry where this unit uses plastic holes with sheet screws. this manifold did not even include the required number of screws to complete assembly. this is bad and over time the holes will become unuseable. also there is no mention of the fuel rail ground in the instructions and no hardware to reattach it. factory grounds attach to the stud bolt on the right rear fuel rail, but again this unit has a screw so it is impossible to attach the ground wire without cutting and splicing a different connector to the harness ground wire. also the included thermostat gasket leaked and had to replace with different brand. if you can afford oem buy oem. this product is far inferior to the oem unit i removed from my car. i am dissapointed in its quality.

Functions just like OEM replacement unit with a 33% to 50% savings in cost. (item price only). A great deal for a 'do it yourselfer'. Less of an overall savings from a total cost standpoint, if you are going to pay someone to do the job. This is a complete intake kit. If you are paying someone to install it....don't let the repair person charge you for intake gaskets, thermostat gasket, or the thermostat itself. All of these items are included with the original cost of the intake kit.

Installed on a 2003 Police Package Vic with 4.6 V8. Fits perfectly. Took about 2 hours to remove and 1&1/2 hours to install but I'm not a mechanic either so I took it slow and followed a few Youtube videos and a Haynes manual. I was surprised how well it went! TK

A great upgraded replacement, has the metal crossover for coolant. So far it seems to perform well, with no noticeable difference in performance or gas mileage. Had a couple flaws that were easy to remedy, trimming the extra plastic away from the molding process. Overall seems to fit and work very well.

I'm glad to assist, Matt! You are referring to the blind hole in the block, that is covered by the factory head gasket and will not leak unless the head-gasket fails.
