well, to be honest the CRC did not work to pass the car, I had a clogged converter and the egr was not working right, but it did clean out all the gunk in the fuel system, the car runns awsome after you use it, if your car won't pass after you use it, have a teck look at your egr valve and catalytic converter, my car is old and if these parts are bad your car won't pass, your catalytic converter will get black powder coating on it in side. and there is nothing that will clean that off, but yes crc did bring the numbers of the test down by half, so it dose work, just not on a car with warn out parts,

I used this in a 2000 Honda Civic VP.

I used the product as directed but it did not work. The Check Engine Light came on four hours after I turned it off. I then bought a more expensive competing product to clean the catalytic converter which worked -- the Check Engine light remained off and the car passed the emissions test.

About Me Midrange Shopper

Comments about CRC Guaranteed to Pass® Emissions Test Formula, 12 oz.:

I have a 2005 acura mdx and my check engine light was on.found out it was my catalytic converter that needed to be replaced and the cost was 750. read about this and gave it a shot.i poured it in the gas tank Saturday at 3pm then turned it on at about 7pm and the light was off. I didn't take it to get inspected until Tuesday morning cause I ran the car to burn some gas as it said on the box. brought it in Tuesday morning after driving the car for about 30 minutes changing speeds between 50 and 80. I passed inspection it worked. would def give it a try it might not work if your converter is broken but if its a clog it might help why not give it a try.

Comments about CRC Guaranteed to Pass® Emissions Test Formula, 12 oz.:

My 2007 Subaru Forester with 152,000 miles had a check engine light come on 1 month before inspection. The code which triggered the light stated the problem was a "low efficiency catalytic converter". I looked on YouTube and learned that meant the converter was not getting hot enough and needed to be replaced. I got a quote of $900 to basically replace the exhaust system, and if I wanted to be safe, the O2 sensors for another $325! I used this wonderful product as instructed and the light went out and I passed inspection WITHOUT ANY REPAIRS! Wowwieeee!!!

I had a '01 Lesabre with a failing cat. I had 1 month until my inspection sticker expired and I was getting outrageous prices to replace the cat. On the Lesabre it takes about 70 miles for all the sensors to reset after being cleared/erased. I tried one can and found out I could drive about 40-50 miles before the code reappeared. I put in the second can - cleared the code - drove 75 miles and checked to see if all the sensors were registering (they were) and IMMEDIATELY drove to the inspection station. The car passed and I got my sticker - 30 mile later the code was back.

Hi Mark! We cannot advise you regarding your issue until the OBD II Code coming from the check engine light is supplied. If it truly is the catalytic converter, this CRC Guaranteed to Pass® Emissions Test Formula - Part No. 05063 would not be able to repair or fix it if it is clogged. If you can supply the code we can provide correct information based on the specific issue.

I have Honda Accord 1990, and I failed California emission test because of high CO emission. I've just bought the bottle of CRC. I have a question, do I need to full the gas tank with CRC and then drive the tank empty in one day, or I can use the full gas tank for multiple days?

A friend said to drive all the gas tank in one stretch. For that I have to drive it on highway for 500 miles. I'm concerned how can one drive this much in one day.

Please inform how you used that.

                  Thanks.

All other fuel system cleaners say pour in product, "THEN" fill the tank with fuel. This makes more sense to me for mixture advantages. Why does CRC insist on doing this process backwards? I don't need to pass a test but keeping my 05 Grand Marquis running perfect is very important to me. There aren't many (grand paw) Marquis out there with 450h.p. averages 20.8 mpg and has made many enemies out of Stangs, Camaros, and hemi mopars. I need to know how to use this product to clean everything it claims it will. P.S. the guys at Advance Auto in Jackson, Tn. know me and my car.

                    A:

I'm happy to help, Poppy! Sounds like an awesome sleeper car! I can tell you take a lot of pride in your 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis and want to keep it running at its best. The CRC Guaranteed to Pass® Emissions Test Formula (Part No. 05063) can be helpful in situations where you need extensive cleaning quickly to help pass an emissions test. The active ingredient in this product is polyether amine. This along with petroleum distillate, sweetened middle petroleum distillate, solvent naphtha and naphthalene make up this product.

Polyether amine can be found in many additive products. This may also be in the gasoline you use in your vehicle. If you are using a top tier brand gasoline, it may contain this chemical. Typically, they'll have enough to keep the engine clean in the regular and mid-grade and enough to actively clean in the premium grade.

Since you are not trying to clean up the vehicle for an emissions test, a great option would be Chevron Techron Concentrate Fuel System Cleaner (Part No. 65740 [20oz] or 67740 [12oz]). If your fuel contains ethanol, you may find that an ethanol treatment, such as Sta-bil Ethanol Treatment (Part No. 22264), Lucas Oil Products Ethanol Fuel Conditioner (Part No. 10576) or Sta-Bil 360 Protection (Part No. 22284) can also help to keep your vehicle in top shape.
