Glad to assist, Dave! There is a hole where it bolts down and that is where the vent would stick up through.

If this hose when followed from the axle housing ends up at the frame with a plastic type end on it , it is an axle housing vent.

    • Q:

I am replacing this part. I have all brake lines, and vent removed. How do i remove this part from axle? There is the steel nipple that the vent was attached to. This appears to have a nut at the base that i figured would loosen up to remove part. However, nut seems welded to housing. Am i missing something or is nut just rusted on? Please resond ASAP.
