The first one died after 6 weeks. I paid for a tow and got a replacement. They tested the ones in stock and found some defective ones. The replacement would not begin to turn the engine. I took it back and bought a new one. No more rebuilds when tow charges aren't part of the warranty.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

The old starter would make the battery cables smoking hot and barely turn the car over. I've haven't seen that before. I thought the engine was bad. Put this new starter in. Engine spun right up. Nice.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

Exact fit for a 2002 Chevy Impala 3.4L. Used a coupon code and the item ended up being very affordable. The lifetime warranty is always a plus. Mine ended up failing after about 18 months, but I attribute it to a sensor that was leaking oil potentially getting inside the starter. Exchanging the broken starter for a new one at the store was a breeze. Wouldn't hesitate ordering this from advance auto parts.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

The starter was light, easy to handle and fit perfectly but it was difficult to install because of the exhaust pipe blocking the wires. There are some YouTube videos that help. The starter itself works great.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

The starter seems well made. I was a little disappointed that it was missing the nuts and washers to the solenoid. Price was a little high compared to the competition. If it wasn't for the online discount I would have purchased it somewhere else. Overall, I am happy with my purchase though.
