The starter fit as an exact replacement and works fine. If you are replacing the starter on a Saturn, the top bolt can be tricky. It is pretty much stick the socket with an extension up their until you find the bolt head. Then when putting it back in, feel around and hope you can find the hidden hole. Contrary to a manual, it can and needs to be done from below.

The first starter I purchased and installed did not work. Had to take the starter back out and return it for another. I was not happy having to do the job twice. The associate at the counter seemed to care less about the problem and even told me I would have to wait for another starter to come in. Very poor customer service.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

The post was loose but I didn't notice it when installing the first time. Got stranded a few miles from home had to get towed back and remove the starter to trouble shoot it. Hasn't given me any problems since ...hopefully it lasts ,not a fun job ,twice

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

I bought this starter for my 1999 Saturn SW2. Mine got to the point where if the car was cold it would start, but once it warmed up and was driven around a bit it didn't want to engage at all. Thankfully my local Advance had one in stock and I was able to install it after work. It's pretty straight forward and comes with all the necessary hardware to connect the wiring.

      S terminal location

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

If the car came with the S terminal on the LH side, you will have to add a 6" jumper to reach the connection. I suggest this jumper wire be installed before installing the starter. Once installed the S terminal is hard to see and get to.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - Remanufactured:

Installed this in a '97 Saturn. The plastic divider between the two cable posts is too close to the smaller (10mm) nut, preventing the use of a socket to fully tighten that nut. Other than that, it's a perfect fit/match for the OEM.

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
