Used on a 91 F350 5.8L auto. This is a very universal Starter. I went through several other starters and checked many different companies, but this one has a snug fit unlike all the reman. mounting bolts. I tried the P3180 Worldwide started and it ruined my flywheel due to improper alignment. This is the BEST OPTION for an accurate aligning starter. Spend the extra money and avoid much more costly mistake.

Noisy

Surprised as highly rated as this starter was that it was so noisy. Yet the price is nice.

Comments about CARQUEST Starter - New:

My 1979 Ford F150 truck was not starting easy as it used to. I discovered that the original starter required to be replaced. There are many areas of concern that need to be addressed before purchasing one. After some research, I purchased it. It was installed pretty quick but somewhat heavy for where it needed to be installed. After some needed repairs, I started the truck. It started RIGHT UP WITH NO PROBLEM. As of date, it is working & performing better that I thought with lots of cranking power. Great item to purchased if you need a starter.

Great starter. It is so strong it scared me at first. The prior starter from autozone was much weaker.

Starter was bought for a 1991 Ford F150 because old one was the bendex was sticking when started. It bolted up as intended with no problems. Simple hook up, 2 bolts and the hot wire, took 10 minutes. I could have went with the cheaper model but as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

It's grounded by being attached to the engine/transmission. No ground wire needed.
