I bought this as a spare to my other Driveworks alternator I purchased last year for my hot rod just in case. It was under $30 and my present alternator is working fine so far.

buy a higher output
It is easy to install and it will keep the car charged but it acts more like a generator than a alternator, when the engine speeds up it charges high when the engine is just idling say at a light, it charges low, it's worth the extra $20.00 to put in a better one.

I purchased this alternator for my 57 Corvette to replace an alternator that wasn't charging my battery sufficiently. In about an hour I had the alternator installed and the engine running. It was charging about 14.3 volts which is good.
