Installed this in my 2002 Civic LX. It fit perfectly with none of the issues the other reviews listed. Very simple to replace. Had to remove bumper but it literally takes 10 min. Stock radiator cap fit perfect no leaks. One thing I did change was to swap the trans cooler connectors. They have two different angles and they work better swapped. Should be obvious when you compare it to the old one

I bought this radiator to replace the original radiator in my 2002 Honda Civic. After taking 4 hrs to install I went to put the radiator cap on and it didn't fit. I could not get the tabs on it to grab so I could turn it to the locked position. I had to bend the tabs on the cap to get it to work but it still turns very hard and I am afraid that it will eventually break the neck off of the radiator. I went and purchased a new cap from the parts store and it was doing the same thing. If it didn't take 4 hrs to install I would have taken it out and returned it for a different one. Next time I will check to see how well the cap fits before I install my next radiator.

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

first off, i took my old cap to verify that it fits the radiator. my civic is a 5spd so i used a dremel to cut off the trans cooler barbs---those things make it nearly impossible to clear the condenser fan shroud. even with those outa the way, you have to be carefulZ. the big issue with this was that the radiator appeared twisted so the bottom and top tanks are not aligned with each other --so the driver side top bracket wouldn't fit right. i'll use this until it leaks then will order a denso or mishimoto. i normally have good luck with AAP but disappointed this time. as long as it doesn't leak i'll be ok with it

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

My old radiator had a 4 inch crack in the plastic. This was affordable and has proven to be durable and reliable. It was incredibly difficult to install and the transmission connection broke off while reattaching the hose but luckily my transmission connection was good on the old radiator.

Hi Billy, good question! This part fits a manual transmission on certain vehicles. To check the exact fit application for the ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator (Part No. 431480), please provide us the year, make, model, and engine size of your vehicle.

Why would you sell this radiator for a 2003 Civic when the cap doesn't fit from the Civic. I found that one from a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 fits perfectly on this rad. Same 16 psi as Civic. Just passing this info along for others getting caught in this predicament.

I bought this radiator for my 2002 Honda civic EX. The original cap does not fit. I tried Stant 10242, 10229, 10329 and none of those cap fit this radiator. Which cap is a perfect fit for this?

Unfortunately, we do not see a radiator cap other than Stant Radiator Cap(Part# 10242) for your 2002 Honda Civic EX available right now. I would recommend that you visit the nearest Advance Auto store and our representative would be glad to assist you further.
