Carquest Premium Starter: Remanufactured, Limited Lifetime Warranty

After installing the same brand starter in my Jeep Wrangler, I decided to put this in my wife's CRV, which had a bad starter. Starter is in my opinion, better than OEM. The starter is super strong and takes less crank to turn the engine over. The only issue I had with this starter, was that the pin near the solenoid was slightly bent and required pliers to bend back to properly snap fit the clip over, otherwise I'd have given it a 5 star. Still saved me a load of money and not a huge deal.

Starter turned over slower than original OE starter. Sounds like something is wrong with the vehicle but it just isn't turning over fast enough to quickly start the car. Already tested battery and alternator and checked the connections, they are fine. Took off starter and took to store to see if I could get it replaced since it was under warranty. The salesman put it on the machine and said that it was ok. I tried to explain to them that the tester basically engages the starter and make sure it spins, it does not test it under a load which if it did they would be able to tell that it's faulty. They said as long as the tester said it was good they wouldn't replace it. I then told them that I would put the starter back in my car which is a pain in rear takes about 2hrs and drive it to the store so that they could hear it. The salesman said I could do that and they could check the battery and alternator and connections and listen to the starter but if I took the starter off after they clearly heard something was wrong with it , put it on the machine and it said it was ok they would not give me another one. Needless to say I will never purchase another item from advance auto parts and will go out of my way to advise others to do so as well.
