Carquest Premium New CV Axle Shaft Assembly

I'm giving you five stars here even though the part was damaged during shipment because I know it was not the guys at the store that did it. How do I know this because I have seen these things shipped to my house and the last one of these identical shafts that I bought they replaced it three times and ended up paying for the part itself and refunded me a couple hundred bucks on top of that that's how bad it was so I am very familiarise with these particular shafts in the containers IE the cardboard shell that they are shipped in. The actual shaft and the CV boots are fine always have been even on the last purchases which were not made at your store or thru the checker / Advance Auto Parts website for local pickup. In fact I was so familiarized with what the outside of the box would look like if it was damaged that I said to the guys that it was already damaged and then I pulled it out in front of them to confirm that. Sure enough, it was, however it was so subtle that they would not have noticed, fact is the majority of axle shafts this is not a problem with the packaging. This one is different because of the passenger side on Toyotas send it through a bearing first then where it it contacts the transaxle there is a dust cover that is round, and protects that interstitial. Unfortunately it also contacts the inside of the cardboard packaging which serves as a shipping container and when given the heave-ho either on pallets or inside of trucks, it stands no chance with only corrugated cardboard in the middle. This results in what should normally be Abe perfectly round cover being flattened on one side and if only even just a little bit it's still a flattened circle on a brand new part that I paid my hard-earned money to go specifically all the way up to Norco to get from your store from Riverside. Again let me be clear this was no fault of the store employees and they said that they would indeed reach out to the warehouse staff whoever that is

All the grease came out of boot and was flung everywhere inside rim. I had just paid to have it installed so I left it in and waited until I hear it clicking. Now maybe a year or less later I'll have it removed and a warranty axle installed. I hope I have better luck with the second Advance/Carquest "brand new" axle. No one wants to pay labor twice that's why I left it in until it started failing due to lack of grease so at least I got some time and use out of it but it's time to go now.
