You would need to pay me to buy this part again
I found that one of my OEM headlight connectors had burned out. It was time to get it replaced. Picked this item up at AAP and the install was fairly easy using some wiring tools. From the start, all was well, but over a few months, it progressively went down hill.
I think the fault in the experience is due to the construction of the headlight socket. It uses two plastic pieces to latch the bulb; think of compass and one piece going from north to south and the other piece going from east to west, then overlap those pieces to form a cross, then fold the ends in and you have your clamps on the ends to connect to the bulb notches. There's fault in this design I think because over time, these two pieces started to wiggle and move independently and it caused my working headlight to see like the bulb was burnt out. It wasn't the bulb, it was this loose connection of the socket itself.
Frustrated, I cut the connector out and installed a dorman connector. The dorman costs less and seems to fit more like an OEM connector for my 2010 Nissan Altima.
Carquest parts are pretty solid - I buy their rotors and brake pads, I bought a replacement alternator recently and it's been working fine, same goes for the batteries, but I have to give this one a 1 star. It's not worth the price only to have it fail 6 months later and give me problems.
