Great product
08 Malibu 3.6 This pump can be done from the top with a few things moved out of the way. The oem gasket is steel with gasket material around it. This water pump comes with a paper gasket that rolls up when they put it in the box. You'll need a light coating of sealer to hold it in place when installing on the engine. New bolts are included. Job should take about an 90 minutes with minimal swearing.

Leaking again, Second pump.
This is the second pump that has started leaking just months after replacing. The first pump came with a cheap gasket, they both started leaking months later. The second pump I bought the upgraded felpro gasket and pitched the cheap one that comes with it. Both leaking again months later. Professionally installed, spent 18 years in the automotive industry as an ASE certified mechanic. The kicker is I've spent X amount of money on coolant, not cheap, and misc. supplies putting them on, not to mention my time. To avoid spending more money my hands are tied to getting another same pump replacement again and hoping this doesn't happen again. I wonder if There is an upgraded alternative pump they will honor for replacement and gift the coolant needed again?

Fit great, seems to be working. Came with new bolts, which are required for the install. It does include a gasket, but it's very thin paper, I ordered and installed a new Fel-pro gasket, which was much more substantial and I didn't have to fool around with sealant. Be sure to follow torque sequencing, etc.
I would not buy this water pump again.

Water pump is fine. The cardboard gasket is junk and I purchased a felpro gasket with a silicone bead. Also the mounting bolts are incorrect. They were 6mm by 1.0, however the threads were the full length which is not OEM. 1/8" at end of the OEM bolts are smaller diameter and therefore torque properly. The bolts supplied with this water pump would not torque properly.

Pump is good. Bolts and Gasket are TERRIBLE

The water pump is fine so far. But the bolts and the gasket are terrible. The gasket is felt/paper and tears very easily. The bolts are softer than butter. I sheared a head off at about 40 ft lbs when the spec for the water pump should be 90 ft lbs. Made for a much longer/expensive project to have to extract the bolt out of the engine block. Use a better gasket and better bolts and you are good.
