2005 Dodge Durango 4.7
Expect to spend at least 3 hours changing out this pump on a 2005 Dodge Durango with 4.7 motor. An extra pair of hands is also very convenient. Rent the wrentch kit from Advance to remove the fan clutch from the water pump and buy a small tube of thread dope to coat the last half inch of bolt threads and bleed plug in upper hose inlet housing. Start by draining your cooling system now or have a pan handy to catch 2 gallons of coolant when you remove the pump. Remove the serpentine belt then remove the fan clutch from pump with tools rented from Advance. Next remove the fan shroud. Remove the idler pulley that covers 2 pump mounting bolts. Remove remaining bolts and then remove the old pump. Before installing the new pump, apply a small amount of dope to threads of pump mounting bolts and clean the gasket contact surfaces on the front of the motor. Then fit the new gasket to the pump and begin installation in reverse order to disassembly.

This part is a joke would not recommend it.
Bought one 2 months ago leaked blew antifreeze all over a week later. Paid to tow my truck and get it repaired water pump was covered. A month later had the same problem once again paid for towing and repairs but water pump was once again covered. Two weeks later the shaft pulls out of the water pump ruins fan and radiator. Once again paid for towing and am paying for repair. In my opinion I would have rather paid more for a better water pump instead of paying out all this money. They may stand behind the warranty but doesnt do much good if they replace it with another product that won't last long.

Some state the impeller was metal. The one I received was composite material. I would've preferred a metal one, but this one will still do the job; OE unit was also composite.
Installed on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L. It is fairly simple install. On the JGC, you'll need to (obviously) remove the serpentine belt (I suggest replacing this at the same time as the water pump, if you haven't recently done so) as well as remove the lower idler pulley. You'll also need to loosen the center-most alternator retaining bolt, as well as remove the two alternator bolts on the driver's side of engine, and swing the alt. up and out of the way to make room for the R&R of the pump. Nothing else will need removed/moved.
If you don't drain the system prior to the R&R, you'll lose roughly 1/2-3/4 gallon of coolant in the replacement of the water pump when you disjoint it from the block.
