After the first one was defective...
I was an hour and a half away from home. When the alternator went out. I purchased one alternator from the store. Spent three hours installing it. Only to find out that it was defective. I had to purchase a new battery as well. The store did not have another alternator so I had to drive 30 minutes down to another store on just battery power. The new battery at that, got down to the other store spent another 2 1/2 hours installing the replacement one. I am thankful the new battery did not get damaged. It's a 50-50 gamble. My suggestion is to have the alternator tested before leaving the store.

POOR QUALITY
Alternator worked great for about 2 months. Replaced that with another, which also worked for 2 months. Stick with AC Delco. I won't buy another Alternator from Advance Auto. The lifetime warranty is great, but if I have to spend 2 hours installing a new alternator every 2 months... it isn't worth it.

3 rd time is a charm
1st one didn't charge right out of box 2nd one charged for 3 months turned on ac and quite. keeping fingers crossed for 3rd one. Advance stood behind it but the labor involved is the issue having to do it over and over, with no Compensation

Purchased now 3rd one and pray this one lasts more than a week! Warantee is good...if you can afford to keep changing alternators out!
