Comments about CARQUEST Fuel Pump Sender Assembly:

This DOES NOT fit a 16 gallon tank. After pulling the ORIGINAL 19 year old pump, I held them up side by side on my work bench and this unit was about 1/2 inch taller. They don't even look similar. The original pump drops in easily. The AirTex hits the bottom of the tank before fully flush with the surface. Don't even think about pushing on it. There's no way the lock ring can be put back in place. AutoZone has the same brand. The pump that Oreilly's sells looks identical to the original. What a bummer! And it's supposed to rain the next few days when I could have completed the job today. Oh well.

      Makes a loud whining sound.

Comments about CARQUEST Fuel Pump Sender Assembly:

I just installed this fuel pump and it's making a loud whining sound. When I come to a stop it feels like my engine isn't running as good, so the pump is obviously not working right. Now I have to go to the trouble of removing my tank again to take the pump back and get a replacement.

The fuel pump relay should either be located in the fuse box under the hood, or the fuse box inside the vehicle, under the dash.
