Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

This part appears to be well built, heavy strong materials, it is an exact fit, I would recommend to others. I have purchased many parts from you and have always received an excellant product.

I would recommend to the manufacturer that the instruction sheet they enclose be more model specific. The instructions would not fit my vehicle in anyway. I had factory instructions so it was not a problem to me but the average diy person could have had some problems in dissassembly and reassembly.

What tool do I need to remove the stub shaft from the passenger side? And are new seals required or recommended before re-installation of the new half shaft going into the transmission side? Also is there a special tool to install the seal? I have the shafts pictured on your site without the stub shaft on them that's showing for my automatic transmission passenger side Saturn L200 base model with a 2.2L. Can I purchase one with the stub shaft (34 spline) already installed on the new half shaft so I don't have the hassle of buying special tools if needed? Tire side is 33 spline.
Thank you taking time to read this.

Hi Pryce, happy to help! The stub shaft can be removed using a special tool that you install in the groove where the c-clip sits, you can use a slide hammer to pop it out. You can then install new c-clips and pop it into the new axle and then install the axle and it pops in like the old one. I am not sure if you see a leak at the axle seal, if not it is normal and there is no need to remove the stub shaft in the transmission. There is no bearing replacement without disassembling the entire transmission and replacing the differential. the axles are both female splines where they go into the transaxle, when you remove them if you have male splines its a probably 4 inch or so shaft/adapter you need to remove from the axle and put into the new axle
