Q:My 1989 Ranger quit unexpectably. I suspect it is a timing belt failure. The engine turns over with little resistence and no signs of ignition. My only experience with timing belts was a Chevette. Is replacing the belt cut and dry. I would appreciate any information about changing the belt, if that is in fact the problem. Thanks. Tom
A:With out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.
