Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Automatic Belt Tensioner:

The piece did not fit right the first time I put it in then I saw an important tip. There is a plastic nut on the bolt of the original piece that must be removed prior to installing this one. The original has a space cut in, this one does not so if you do not take off the plastic nut this will not fit flush in the car and the belt will not stay on.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Automatic Belt Tensioner:

Some changes were needed to fit my 2005 Acura TL. Don't use original dust covers, and DO NOT use plastic nut from stock bolt because this Dayco model does not have a resessed hole for the nut to go into, thus allowing a 1/4 inch gap from flush to the engine if you try to use with nut.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Automatic Belt Tensioner:

Bearings seem smooth and part fixed problem with failing original tensioner. The only problem is that Honda and Acura use 14mm bolts on both pulleys. The tensioner pulley on this part has a 15mm bolt head. Once installed, my Honda 14mm serpentine belt wrench would not fit on the tensioner pulley and I had no wrench with the proper clearance to be able to slip on the belt which should have been the easiest part of the installation. This replacement part should have the same size bolt as the original. Now I need a new wrench to change belts.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Automatic Belt Tensioner:

The upper pulley bolt is not the same size as OEM. It is a 15mm where the OEM bolt is 14mm. It vibrates back and forth emitting a rattling noise under the hood. Will be returning it. Just buy OEM for $100 more online.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Automatic Belt Tensioner:

did not fit properly. Poorly machined, maybe that is why it did not fit, also if you compare this part to original they differ a little bit. had to return.

        A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Dayco No Slack Automatic Belt Tensioner, Light Duty - Part No. 89369 installing the drive belt auto-tensioner on your 2003 Honda Accord EX V6 requires the lower timing cover to be trimmed slightly for clearance. Follow these instructions for installation: Remove the drive belt and auto-tensioner, raise the vehicle on a lift, and remove the right (passenger's) front wheel, remove the under cover from the right side to access the engine, looking in from the right front wheelwell opening, inspect the lower timing belt cover's rib, use a die grinder or a utility knife to trim off a 3-mm section of the lower timing belt cover, reinstall the right side under-cover, reinstall the right-front wheel, and lower the vehicle, install the new drive belt auto-tensioner, reinstall the drive belt.
