Ordered online and picked it up in less than a hour. Was very easy to change did it in the parking lot of store so I could turn in core. Took old core in and picked up new one. So far so good its only been about a month and seems to be working great. Mine looked brand new. Hope it last as long as factory 14 years. Advanced had best price around. Really like buying online for the Discount. They also emailed me a $25 off coupon after this purchase.

Reman alternators and starters are made with soldered internal connections which are prone to heat damage. The OEM units use crimped connections which will withstand the underhood heat generated by diesel engines. High heat -> soldered connections -> FAILURE. First, buy a brand name (Ford, Bosch, etc) replacement. I know they're very expensive but they will far outlast the reman units. Second, chech your batteries, Bad alternators kill battery cells and bad batteries kill alternators.

You MUST check the batteries and make sure you don't have a bad cell(s) or you'll just kill that nice shiney replacement alternator. Same goes for replacing batteries. Check the alternator, too. I have 440k miles on my 2001 Excursion and I know firsthand what works and what doesn't. But at least it's only a 15 minute job to replace :-)

The Carquest unit is a good unit. Mine lasted two years and then I found an old guy at the alternator shop who gave me the advice above. And I am going on five years on the same alternator and batteries. He knew his stuff.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 110 Amps:

Installed Alternator and charged the batteries over night for a full charge as recommended by manufacture. Started my truck and the Alternator output was a solid 14.2 volts. I would recommend this Alternator based on my experience so far. How can you go wrong with a lifetime warranty anyway.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 110 Amps:

Preparing to install another of these altenators for the third time in three years. Some have lasted less than a year, the current one lasted 14 months. Advance recommended to fully charge the batteries prior to installing the unit. This was done and I guess it helped as the altenator lasted a couple of months longer. Good luck to you if you purchase one of these.
