Comments about BWD Throttle Position Sensor:

I had a hesitation issue with a 87 Corvette. I had read that this part may be the issue. I also read that performance and response would improve. I have owned this car 12 years. It has never run so well with just this simple 5 minute change. This should be a regular maintenance item like a PCV valve.

what is the difference between parts EC1038 and EC1038P? I see on the back of part each has a different number 154 and 156 what do these numbers mean they both say they are the correct part for a 1989 camero 2.8 V6 MPFI engine I tried part EC1038 and it made my car idle very very high would the EC1038P make any difference?

            A:

Great question, d-rock! Both parts are made to fit the same applications. The "P" series are "value line " parts. The only difference on the "P" series is the lesser price. Either one should give correct operation in any case.

            A:

It might be the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
