Installed in race application for use with high torque/ high amp mini starter on a moderate compression engine 11-5-1 , 360 ci stroker in most of these applications you deal with high amperage draw on the entire starter system , the solenoid is a key part of that system, and after installing this (BWD) unit and doing system testing under race conditions it works we'll and that makes us happy,Cool deal = less heat. Thanks

I've went through 4 of these in the last 6 months. Installed the 2nd one (wich was faulty from the start) & my Jeep tried to start as soon as i touched the cable to the post! Its a good thing they have a warranty, but I'll never buy a BDS solenoid again.

Comments about BWD Starter Relay / Starter Solenoid:

My transportation was not up to my specifications. I needed to replace various items on my 1979 F150 pickup. After some research, I purchased this item even though it was rated LOW by other individuals. I took it out of the box and noticed that it looked well built and even had some weight to it. I was surprised!! It was installed and tested in place. The truck started up with NO ISSUES.

Used to replace on my 79 F150. Worked good for a week. Then started not working at all to sticking on so you have to wack it with a wrench to disengage the starter.

In my opinion, "YES". I am totally discusted (sp) with any item distributed by Standard Motor Products. BWD is one of Standards brand names. Standard was a distributer/manufacturer of high quality parts, at one time. This is no longer the case, they keep "taking money out of the product". This increases thier bottom line, and decreases quality.

I had a ford that the ground from the engine to the frame was bad and that caused my relay to keep going bad. May not be your problem but after I fixed my engine ground,I had no more trouble
