The switch is too long and will not activate the back-up lights. Tried three different BWD switches same part number in three trans.

Q:Where is this switch located in a 1987 Dodge Aries LE 2.2L with automatic trans?
A:Hi Rich, glad to assist you! The neutral safety switch is screwed into the transmission case, just above the pan area at the front of the transmission near the dipstick. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle.
Q:I have a 1987 Dodge Aries LE with 2.2L & automatic transaxle. Where is this switch located on transaxle and how is it replaced?
A:I'm glad to help you, Rich! I have forwarded the location image of the BWD Back-Up Neutral Safety Switch - Part No. S290P on a 1987 Dodge Aries LE 2.2L to your email address so you can take a look on that for more information.
Q:Will this work with a manual transmission?
A:I'm happy to help, Challenger Guy! I checked on your 1971 Dodge Challenger 5.2L and found that the BWD Neutral Safety Switch is designed to fit the automatic transmission.
Q:where is located the neutral safety swift in 2002 jeep laredo
A:It is located under dash driver side look behind the upper arm of clutch pedal and you should see a green and black wire coming from the button (switch) assembly on the firewall. The wires go up above the clutch pedal.
