Well this is the same part I had he dealership replace 2 years ago.The charged me [$] for the part and another 200.00 labor to install it.I was told the labor was high because they had to drop the steering colum and it was risky because of the airbag etc.Well I replaced this one.Boy was I shot a line.It took 15 Minutes tops and did not have to drop steering colum. It cost me the 25 bucks or so for the part.An exact fit.Wont happen again.I always trusted Dodge for there service but looks like they are like the rest. Can no one be reasonable.

Fairly simple to install, but that's no rating of the product its self. The dorman switch wasn't available, so I bought the lower cost unit we see here. The first thing I noticed, was that the ignition key did not turn as smoothly as it had before, but the old switch had 15 years to break in. Since it only took about 30 min to install, Ill give it a little time, and buy a different brand if operation doesn't improve over time.

The battery on my Dodge truck was being drained, even after the key was pulled out. suspected it would be the ignition switch.Got it replaced with the aforementioned product and it seems to have taken care of the issue. So far so good!

I installed this part and the feel was very "notchy", not smooth like the OEM. It was so bad that I returned it for a replacement. The replacement was better, but still not good enough. Ended up getting a different brand elsewhere and eating this switch.

point your finger at the ignition key hole opening as though you were sticking your finger into the key hole. Now Follow that finger straight through the steering column to the other side. Bingo

could this switch cause a/c blower to stay on when key is off position and removed then when key is installed and slightly turned toward unlock position blower turns off as it should?

                      • A:

Yes, this switch can be one of many reasons for your blower to remain on, or to turn off intermittently. I bought this switch to fix the later situation, and it solved my issue. My fan will come on and remain on as long as the key is turned. no more pounding on the wheel to start it back up again.
