01' Windstar had intermittent miss, changed plugs and wires which helped some. Still missed, bucked, and jerked. Read reviews and decided to try. Car runs smooth and has more power and probably better gas mileage. It belongs to my daughter and she doesn't keep track of that, (or anything else). Replaced coil on my car, ('01 Focus), for same problem with same results and definitly better mileage! Very very pleased!!!

The part was used and did not work. At first, the mechanic told me that my cylinders may be bad and caused the misfire but the codes did not support that. I went to a local auto shop and got a brand new coil. Installed it and I have been driving the car ever since without any problems. Very disappointed that I did not return the part and get m money back.

Comments about BWD Ignition Coil:

So far so good. I had cracks in the one I took out. I had compared prices with the original Motorcraft part. I bought plugs, plug wires, and the coil for the same price as one coil from Ford.

Was getting a P0303. Saw the plug and cylinder #3 was wet and not burning. Car was hesitating. Put this in along with Carquest plug wires and Autolite plugs. Also cleaned the throttle body with some brake cleaner. The car is running like new now!

              A:

Hi Annette I will be happy to answer your question. The ignition coil part number E260 does not show to be a exact fit for your vehicle. Part number 26221 http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/driveworks-ignition-coil-26221/10703942-P does show to be a exact fit. If you are replacing all of them you will need 3, your vehicle uses 3 ignition coils 2 per cylinder.

My 2004 Taurus was diagnosed with bad ignition coil. Changed it and still runs like poop. changed plugs and wires, also idle control valve, and cleaned mass air flow sensor. Diagnosis still comes back as bad ignition coil. Can anything else cause this trouble code? Maybe I got a bad part?

You may need to replace the upper intake manifold gaskets after taking up the manifold. around 10.00 bucks for new ones. Will stop any vacuum leak from the manifold.

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD Ignition Coil -part# E260, the ignition coil pack may be the possible cause of the problem on your Ford F-150. does this control the power to the fuel pump on a 04 ranger 3.0??
Asked on 9/11/2012 by Brad from Freeport Me.

            1 answer

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

Sorry, the Ignition Coil does not control fuel pump. It deliver a spark of several thousand volts to the spark plugs at exactly the right time from a 6 or 12-volt battery. The distributor gets the spark to the right place at the right time in what is called the secondary circuit. The primary circuit initially created the large spark, and at the heart of the primary circuit is the ignition coil. We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.
