With reference to your inquiry on the BWD Headlight Switch - Part No. S2284, kindly follow the instructions to replace the headlight switch on your 1996 Ford Taurus SHO. Verify that the headlight switch is turned to the "Off" position. Straighten out a paper clip. Insert the straightened end of the paper clip into the end of the headlight switch. There is a small hole on the end of the stalk just big enough for this. Push the paper clip all the way into the stalk to push on the release tab inside the switch assembly. Pull the switch off the steering column while applying inward pressure on the paper clip. Orient the new switch so that it is in the "Off" position while sliding it into the steering column. Then push the new switch into the column until it snaps into place.
