Hi Junk Yard Dawg, To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle. The repair manual part number is 38010.

Happy to help you JYD! The Engine oil level sensor would be located on the side of the oil pan http://i.imgur.com/KnhJbfK.jpg this link will show you a specific spot. The wires are part of a complete harness if you are replacing the connector you will need to splice the new connectors.

  • Q:

what size socket do I need to remove and replace this and what other tools would I need
Asked on 6/3/2014 by colleen from 1588

I'm happy to help, Colleen! This BWD Engine Oil Level Sensor Connector does not require a socket to remove and replace. The one end is a clip that you should be able to depress by hand, if not a flat head screwdriver may help. The other end would require a wire cutter\stripper and crimp tool (Part No. 86262) and some splices (Part No. 85462).

If you are asking about the BWD Engine Oil Level Sensor this could vary by vehicle. If you could please provide the year, make, model and engine size of your vehicle we can look up the correct engine oil level sensor and check for the size.

I recommend also purchasing a repair manual for your vehicle for detailed installation and removal instructions.
