Had an intermittent problem with my cruise control not working. It finally quit working altogether. Also, my ABS check light started to come on and stay on. Ordered on line with discount. Picked it up at the store with no problems. Took about a minute to easily change out the switch (a perfect fit to my 03 Explorer), and now I have my cruise back and the ABS light is out and the system works as it should.

First unit failed within 60 days

I purchase the first unit in June 2013 and it failed by the end of august 2013. Luckly it has a limited lifetime warranty and it is easy to replace.

Comments about BWD Cruise Control Release Switch:

After I had the cruise control recall done on my 02' F150, the cruise control never worked. I noticed this switch was leaking brake fluid. After cleaning the contacts, the cruise still wouldn't work and the switch connector would fill back up with brake fluid. The OEM switch isn't compatible with brake fluid.

Replaced the switch, no leaks! If your cruise won't work after this, check the harness installed as part of the recall. There will be a fuse holder with a 2 amp blade fuse. Mine was blown, replaced it and everything is great!

Yes, this is the switch that mounts in the master cylinder. They are prone to leaking and need replaced from time to time. The first sign they need replaced (usually) is your cruise control quits working... Hope this helps.
