Q:where is this part located on my 2000 impala 3.8
A:The Camshaft interrupter/ Positioning sensor (BWD Camshaft Interrupter - Part No. CSS120) on your 2000 Chevrolet Impala will be located under the power steering pump. You will need to remove pump to gain access to sensor. There is no need to take lines off, just unbolt pump and that can move enough.
