It fit my 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport perfectly. I only had high speed on my fan and then that died. It fixed the problem perfectly. A garage wanted to charge me on $100 to fix. It was easy to do on my own.

                  A:

Hi Nikki, happy to help! Instructions to replace the blower motor resistor: Open the hood of your Liberty and loosen the clamp bolt on the negative battery cable with a wrench. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery terminal and set it aside. Open the passenger's side door of the Jeep then the glove compartment door. Access to the resistor is through the back of the glove compartment. Locate the connector latch on the wiring harness connector for the blower motor resistor. Depress the latch, pull the connector off the resistor and set it aside. Remove the two retaining bolts from the resistor with a socket, ratchet and extension bar then pull the resistor off the HVAC housing and discard it. Position the new resistor on the housing and install the two retaining bolts, tightening them until they are snug. Push the electrical connector onto the new resistor, making sure it locks into place. Close the glove compartment. Connect the negative battery cable to the negative battery post and tighten the clamp bolt with the wrench until it is secure. Close the hood of your Jeep and test the repair by running the blower motor through each speed setting with the blower switch inside the vehicle.

Most of the time, these resistors are located behind the dash on the passenger side near all of the inside A/C components. It does sound like this may be your problem.

If should be located on the assembly behind the glove box, under the dashboard. One other place that it may be, is on the other side of the panel where all your controls are for changing the air conditioning.
