Application in 2002 Chevy Prizm

from Annapolis, MD

Comments about Bosal Exhaust Products:

In my 2002 Chevy Prizm, the Bosal 823-555 was slightly different than the OEM front exhaust pipe. The Bosal pipe diameter at the bottom end was about 1/4" smaller than the original. When I purchased the accompanying gasket (Walker 31604), the gasket fit perfectly on the OEM pipe but was about a 1/4" too large on the Bosal pipe. I did have trouble with leaks at that joint, but I am not sure whether the pipe size differece was the reason. The Walker pipe (52320) may be a better fit, although it is more expensive.

For now, I used Permatex MTK-1 to seal the joint between the front exhaust pipe and the catalytic converter with good results, but I am not sure whether it will hold up long term.
