The Idle Speed Control (ISC) system regulates engine idle speed by adjusting the volume of air that is allowed to by-pass the closed throttle valve. The ECU controls the Idle Speed Control Valve (ISCV) based on input signals received from various sensors. The system is necessary to provide stabilization of curb idle when loads are applied to the engine and to provide cold fast idle on some applications. The Idle Speed Control system regulates idle speed under at least one or more of the following conditions, depending on application: Fast Idle, Warm Curb Idle, Air Conditioner Load, Electrical Load, Automatic Transmission Load.
