Bars stop leak has been used in new cars for decades. It was put in every older Cadillac everytime a radiator was replaced by GM service centers nation wide due to their systems having leaks. Mainly intake leaks on HT-4100 series. Its a great product and I have added it to hundreds of vehicles for over 35yrs without any issues.
I have used it on some really bad leaks that I though it would be a waste of money by adding it and ended up being simply amazed it worked on them. Not just that it stopped it fast as much as it stopped them for good. Really great product and just so glad Prestone didnt change it after buying Bars years ago.

can it be added to overflow tank or straight to radiator

I took my top radiator hose off, at the clamp, and poured the product in the hose there. Then I reinstalled hose and tightened clamp back up. Took maybe 10 minutes. If you have a radiator cap, put it in there. I didn't have a cap and I wouldn't put it in the overflow tank.

Must be added to the radiator. It contains pellets that dissolve and find the leak.
I have been using this for 40 years and it is the best product with no metal in it that can damage your water pump.

For the best and fastest results It should be added directly to the
radiator or by disconnecting the upper radiator hose and adding it in
there. If you put it in the overflow it takes too long and many drives for
the system to draw it out of the tank, much of it just sits on there
                forever.

I would think that since your trying to fix a leak in the radiator you
would want to pour it directly in radiator rather than the overflow tank,
there are components in the radiator leak solution that you want to
circulate through your radiator First so they can do what they are suppose
                to do.

Add to radiator, instructions are on back of can. Most of the time these products require idling or driving the car for 10-20 minutes.
The product needs to circulate through your entire cooling system.
I would not put it in your overflow tank.

Hi Josh, happy to assist you! Bar's Leaks will seal internal, external and coolant to oil leaks. Once installed, the Bar's Leaks particles shrink up to 15 percent. On an external leak, the tiny particles flow to the point of the leak. They then collect at the outside of the seepage and build inward. For internal leaks, the Bars Leaks particles will burn when subjected to the 5000 degree heat of the combustion chamber to seal minor head gasket seepage and small cracks. On coolant to oil leaks, where coolant can seep into the crankcase contaminating the oil, the tiny Bar's Leaks particles will seal the pores in cast iron and aluminum preventing seepage. A:

Hi CSAK, glad to assist you! Here is the direction to use this product. Cooling systems that are dirty or partially clogged should be flushed before usage. First, allow engine to cool so radiator cap can be safely removed and shake well to pour directly into radiator. Do not pack pellets in radiator. Pellets may be pre-dissolved if necessary by putting them in hot water. Note: If you don’t have access to radiator, remove top hose where it connects to top of radiator and install product in hose. Reattach hose and tighten clamp. Fill radiator and overflow tank to proper level, reinstall radiator cap and drive or idle engine for 15 to 30 minutes. Leave Bar’s Leaks in cooling system for preventative maintenance. Use once a year to help guard against future leaks. For more information please visit this link.
