Comments about Autolite Iridium XP Spark Plug:

I always had bad luck with a utilities do I tend to stay away from them. I needed some iridium spark plugs with that were 1 degree colder than stock. I normally use ngk but they were not in Stock anywhere. So I gave the auto kites a try and they were in sale for half the normal price and worked out greaat.

  • Q:

This website says that this product is compatible with my 2004 Chrysler P.T. Cruiser. However, I would like to know if there is any danger or even a chance of it if installed in my engine. The engine is a 2004 2.4 Liter Automatic 4-Cylinder. It leaks a few drops of oil in the top of the spark plug, where wire connects. I just needed to know if there is any risk whatsoever to the engine itself. Eg. Damage to pistons, heads, etc. I plan on buying the set with matching, compatible wires and waiting until I know for sure what the effects are of installing this product. Please respond to me A.S.A.P. so I can either install them with no worry or return them. Thank you for your response.

Hi Larry, glad to help you! This Autolite Xp (Xtreme Performance) Iridium Enhanced Fine Wire, Spark Plug (Part No. XP5263) is an exact fit for your 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L. But, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic to properly diagnose it for the oil leak before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem and also to avoid any risks.

  • Q:

Hi, I am thinking of replacing the spark plugs in my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. Is the gap correct for my engine? How long do you think they will last? Are they OEM approved equipment for my truck?
Asked on 11/14/2013 by Laugy from appleton Wi

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Great question Laugy. The 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi most likely came originally with Champion or NGK Copper Core spark plugs. These iridium plugs meet OE specifications to run in your vehicle. The iridium material should allow the plugs to last around twice as long as the original plugs if not more. The gap on these plugs is .045 and they are pre-gapped.

  • Q:

Does the plug need to be re-gapped? I have a 2007 Cadillac CTS 3.6L. What is the gap for that car?
Asked on 11/6/2013 by Kevin from Churchville, PA

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Hi Kevin, this Autolite Xp (Xtreme Performance) Iridium Enhanced Fine Wire Spark Plug - Part No. XP5263 was pre-gapped at 0.050 inch. All the spark plugs are pre-gapped from the factory, the fact remains that the gap must be adjusted for the vehicle that the spark plug is intended for. Those with modified engines must remember that a modified engine with higher compression or forced induction will typically require a smaller gap settings (to ensure ignitability in these denser air/fuel mixtures). As a rule, the more power you are making, the smaller the gap you will need.

  • Q:

l have heard some spark plugs are not recommended with an old school small block like 289 and a High Performance ignition system, because of high resistance, so what is my best option in this case for autolite spark plugs??? thanks
Asked on 7/20/2013 by jogito 57

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Yes, there are a few high resistance spark plugs which are not recommended for a vintage Ford 289 small block engine. The Autolite Xp (Xtreme Performance) Iridium Enhanced Fine Wire Spark Plug - Part No. XP5263 is not compatible with this engine. Instead I would recommend the Autolite Professional Series Ignition Wireset - Part No. 96205 which is compatible with a Ford 289 small block.
