Perfect Upgrade for Yamaha Vstar

a little bigger then the stock battery buts fits fine, the original GT14B has only 135cc amps but this battery has 200cc amps for easier starting power and better over all performance.

Purchased this in December of 2012...my Atv still had starting problems, so I assumed it was solenoid. Replaced and still not starting. It started fine with pull start, so I assumed it was starter.. took it into the dealer ship, and after testing battery they showed it was bad from the star. Showed full charge with no performance. Took it back to Advanced Auto in Girard, and the guy laughed at me. It was out of warranty. I will never step foot in that store again, and hopefully neither will anyone from my hot rod club.

It starts the bike. Now how long will it last?

Comments about AutoCraft Power Sport Battery, 14-BS, 200 CCA:

Old lead acid technology, nothing special but it fits and starts to bike. 1100 Shadow. I needed a batt. Right away so I had to buy this even though you get similar or an AGM for half the price elsewhere.

Bought it in March 2015; 4 months later battery doesn't charge anymore, of course warranty is only 3 months (like they know is a bad quality product) tried to recharge and does not maintain more than 10V; peace of yunk, worst ever product, will never buy the brand again.

I have a Linhai Big Horn 400 IRS UTV and this is the recommended battery for this machine according to the Linhai Manual. It actually asks for a TX14-BS which has the same dimensions and power for the Linhai. Please add this to your list of compatible vehicles.

Please also keep in mind that many suppliers have multiple manufacturing plants that could result in different countries of origin for the same part.

            • Q:

There are many places online and in your own answers above where this Autocraft Power Sport battry, 14-BS, shows as part of its specifications that it is Type: "Dry Charge AGM". "Dry Charge" means that it comes with a separate container of acid for the consumer to add, just like the Yuasa YTX-14BS which is the OEM battery that it is most likely replacing. AGM means, well, AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat), just like the Yuasa (which, although it is an AGM battery, doesn't say AGM on it). So..when someone above in this thread asked, "Is this an AGM Battery", I was surprised to see that the Customer Service guy said, "No, it is not an AGM battery." If the specs still say, "Dry Charge AGM", I'm thinking that it is indeed an AGM battery. It is sure as heck PRICED like an AGM battery. Can you clarify this for us? (PS I would use it as the AUX battery on a 2004 Mercedes E500, in which I currently have the aforesaid Yuasa.)
Asked on 12/13/2014 by NY Lawyer from New York, NY

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

I'm happy to help, NY Lawyer! It's possible that when those questions were answered a different product line was available. This Autocraft Power Sport Battery (Part No. 14-BS) is not an AGM battery. In the Specifications tab the Battery Type is listed as lead acid battery. The battery will work in your 2004 Mercedes-Benz E500 5.0L V8.

                A:

With reference to your inquiry on this Autocraft 12-Volt Powersport Battery, 200 CCA (Part No. 14-BS), Free Replacement Period begins the day of purchase and expires at the end of the Free Replacement Period printed on your original sales receipt. This period does not renew when the battery is replaced during the Free Replacement Period. If the battery becomes defective after the Free Replacement Period and prior to the end of the warranty period, the warranty benefit will be prorated and can either be credited toward the purchase of a new battery or refunded at our option. The proration amount shall be determined by dividing the purchase price by the number of months of the warranty period, then multiplying the result by the months remaining in the warranty period. Partial months are rounded to the nearest whole month. Installation of an automotive battery in any other type of vehicle or equipment voids your warranty.
