Hi, will this work with a Simplicity Lawn Tractor model # 1694013? 18HP Briggs & Stratton engine. Judging by the manual, the mower was made in 2003-2004.

I have this on a Murray lawn tractor with a smaller 12 HP Briggs and Stratton engine. This battery is as powerful as I have seen available, similar to the rating of a Sears Diehard model, for a lot less money. It is the standard 12 volt type for lawn tractors so it should work fine. However, you should look at the U1R versus the U1 to determine the ideal position of the positive and negative terminals. The U1R (reversed) worked best for me. You can usually spin it around in the battery compartment anyway. It has been over a year and I have not even needed to re-charge it yet.

Jeff, the battery had the best cold cranking amps of anyone that I can find. But notice the positive and negative terminals are reversed from the standard U1. My cables were long enough to reach either position. If yours are short make sure you get the one with the terminals on the correct side for your tractor. I think the standard U1 is $5 more, but same CCA battery.
I used my battery in a gravely zero turn with 25 hp Kawasaki and it spins it over great. I have also used one in a diesel zero turn and it handles the extra compression and glow plugs perfectly.
      Good luck.

No, Painter! This AutoCraft Lawn & Garden 12-Volt Small Engine Maintenance-Free Battery, Group Size U1R, 340 CCA (Part No. U1R-2) does not fit your 1978 Power King 1614 Tractor. I have a John Deere LX288 18hp briggs & stratton, will this battery work in my mower?
Asked on 5/13/2017 by Suzette from Rockingham, NC

    2 answers

    • A:

Good morning, you need a 500 CCA battery for that mower ( cold cranking amps) according to the manufacturer's data. There is also an alphanumeric identifier on the battery that will determine phisical dimension as well as terminal location. Best to take a picture of the battery so all the data is visible and bring it to the store of your choice. Good luck. A.

Hi Cindy! This AutoCraft Lawn & Garden 12-Volt Small Engine Maintenance-Free Battery, Group Size U1R, 340 CCA (Part No. U1R-2) is universal and if your battery holder can handle the U1 size of this battery then sure this 340 CCA battery is probably fit your Cub Cadet Ltx 1045 Riding Mower.

  • Q:

My riding mower is a discontinued model and I can't find a battery number anywhere for my model. I have a 12.5hp Briggs and Stratton and I need to know if this battery will work for my mower?
Asked on 11/25/2016 by Bruce from Woodruff, SC

    2 answers

    • A:

If your battery holder can handle the U1 size of this battery ( which is most common on garden tractors) then sure this 425 Amp battery is probably overkill for your 12.5 HP engine.
This battery lasted me 3.5 years in very cold conditions. Heading out to buy another tonight. It was 15 below this morning and my plow tractor started after many cranks. But this afternoon, it cranked slow. The battery did more then it was expected.

  • Q:

Should this battery last more than 2 years? Is there a pro rated warranty on this battery after the three months?
Asked on 12/6/2014 by radar from bonneau sc

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Hi Radar, glad to serve you! This battery come with 3 months replacement warranty only. The battery Free Replacement Period begins the day of purchase and expires at the end of the Free Replacement Period that is printed on your original sales receipt. This period does not renew when the battery is replaced during the Free Replacement Period. If the battery is found defective after the Free Replacement Period but prior to the end of the warranty period, a prorated credit will be issued that can be applied toward the purchase of a new battery. The prorated credit will be determined by dividing the original purchase price by the number of months of the warranty period, then multiplying the result by the months remaining in the warranty period. Partial months are rounded to the nearest whole month. Installation or use of an automotive battery in any other type of vehicle or equipment voids your warranty.
