Comments about AutoCraft Side-Mount Battery Terminal Quick Disconnect Switch:

Side Mount Battery Quick Disconnect Switch.

There are several different styles of these Quick Disconnect Switches. They all function the same. I preferred the "Knife Blade -Type" for my application as opposed to the " Turn-Knob" switch. Both are good. The knife blade is heavy-duty and easy to operate. The plastic separator does feel a little flimsy and could be made stronger. I purchased the switch to easily check for parasitic drains, and to quickly disconnect battery power w/o having to unscrew the battery terminals. Be sure to grease the copper blade and connectors after installing. This will help keep it from corroding and keep it looking shinny & new. Installs in minutes ..(Warning: Be careful not to cross-thread the bolt when connecting to your battery). I had to replace the original battery bolt w/ a longer bolt for my application. Hope this helps. W.Alexander Bielaga, Griffin, GA

Comments about AutoCraft Side-Mount Battery Terminal Quick Disconnect Switch:

Better quality than I thought. I had to tighten the screw to one of the contacts as it was a bit loose, and the supplied bolt is too short to use with the washer supplied into the side port, but worked well otherwise for my GMC truck. Made in USA! Cheaper than other places, too.

Works well, be sure to check that there's clearance (to the fender) for the switch to fit as it will be oriented when mounted.

Comments about AutoCraft Side-Mount Battery Terminal Quick Disconnect Switch:

Used on Chevy 1 ton truck, the 3/8x16 bolt that attaches to battery side terminal was too short , substituted longer bolt( 3/4"L), also substituted longer battery cable bolt( my existing battery cable bolt was too short to attach securely to the threaded terminal of disconnect switch.)The switch was non functional for my truck out of the package. Works well when installed. I had substitute bolts and washers on hand to make it work. Without these ,I would carry it back and be ticked off. I would not recommend this switch as sold.

Yes the switch will work on 24, or 36 volts. Need to know ampacity, and terminal size. I would not feel safe about AC, only DC, and would not use it under load, like starting or stopping an electric motor.

will not matter as long as its under 300 amps. that is all this switch can handle.
