Great little tool. All I had to do was crack the valve and it practically bled itself. Only problem was the hose was a little small and was difficult to fit onto bleeder valve. I would recommend getting larger tubing and an adapter.

First, the plastic bottle is tiny and not very useful. Worthless if you want to flush the brake lines. Second, the magnet is almost too weak to hold the empty bottle. What happens when the bottle fills with fluid and the weight of the bottle increases four times? The hose included with the bottle will not fit a bleeder valve. The adaptors they include will also not positively attach to the bleeder valve. They call this a "One Man Bleeder" because you'll need one man to hold this collection bottle onto the bleeder valve (and another man or two to perform the bleed). Unfortunately, I opened the package to check it out so I can't return it. Ended up making my own collection bottle from a two foot piece of clear fuel line and an empty Ragu spaghetti sauce bottle found in my trash can.

Comments about AutoCraft 7 pc One-Man Brake Bleeder:

Flimsy & cheaply made, However, it works very well. If your doing a fluid flush, the bottle is small so it requires to be emptied during the process.

Pros

  • Magnet is great idea & worked well.

Cons

  • Need different tube sizes. Had to "adapt" one.

Best Uses

Comments about AutoCraft 7 pc One-Man Brake Bleeder:

Had to bleed a damper & slave cylinder with no help. Tubing would not fit bleeder valves so had to adapt a bit, but once that was taken care of, only took about 15 minutes to complete job. Cleaned up nicely & ready to use again if ever needed.

Comments about AutoCraft 7 pc One-Man Brake Bleeder:

The bottle is too small. Way too small for a brake job! The hoses are 1/8", not 3/8". Maybe it'll work on tiny vehicles, but don't even try this on a Honda.

        Hi Jim,
The clear hose just slips over the fitting on the bottle. On the other side of the hose, you will insert the black, conical fitting that plugs into the bleeder valve on the caliper or wheel cylinder. The hose goes over the round end of that black fitting and the conical end just pushes into the bleeder valve. Remember to check the brake fluid often and don't run it dry.
        Hope that helps!

How do you bleed the master cylinder on a 02 chevy trailblazer using the one man bleeding kit

        A:

Hi Bigdog! By using this AutoCraft 7 pc One-Man Brake Bleeder (Part No. AC558) first you need to identify the master cylinder (driver side) and then remove the fluid lines where you need to apply force to the wrench to loosen and remove the fitting. Once all the lines are removed, take the master cylinder and place it on the vise. Ensure the colour of the hose and screw the inserts into the cylinder, where you need to attach the hoses to these inserts and then place the ends into a container. Fill the attached reservoir with brake fluid during your bleed and begin pumping the master cylinder by pinching the hoses where brake fluid is compressed. Release the hose and brake fluid comes out and then pinch again will results no air in the fluid. Remove the master cylinder from the vise and install in the vehicle, remove the bleeding kit and install the lines. Ensure placing the caps on the master cylinder and test the brake where it should feel clean and crisp when you pump them.
