Comments about AutoCraft 3-Ton Jack Stands:

worked great and this pump does extend the full height as described. The saddle turns out another 3 inches more with an internal stop to prevent it from separating from the ram. Was not pointed out very well in the instructions sheet.

  • Q:

I bought these earlier today and they way they are "ratcheting" which to me means you can crank and they would click upwards. The only adjustment upwards is to pull the post and then the ratchet locks them to prevent them lowering. There is a slot on the side that says bend this back but I have no idea what that is for or how to do it. Is there supposed to be a tool or another part that comes in the box to insert?

I believe pushing that in when the jack stand is assembled will prevent the moveable portion from coming completely out of the bottom portion. You should be able to tap it in with a hammer and screwdriver.

      Hello jH,
The "Ratcheting" name of the locking feature is misleading; from my
experience it is just to be able to lock the jack in at different heights,
though this is extremely helpful. As for the slot on the side, there was
not another piece or tool included to bend the pin back; I purchased a set
of 2-Ton and 3-Ton jacks and neither included an extra tool to bend it.
From what I could tell, all the pin does is prevent the insert from coming
out of the base when moving the stands if you pick it up from the top. I
used a small bolt and hammered the pin down but if you have a small prying
tool you maybe able to bend it that way. It is helpful not to have the
stand separate when moving it but be aware the method I used to bend it
caused the paint to chip off.
      I hope this was helpful,

Most jack stands are designed to support a load only once they have been properly adjusted to the necessary height. Their operation is to use a car jack of some type to raise the vehicle and then place the jack stand beneath the axle or other appropriate frame point. I typically use a thin piece of plywood to compensate for any irregularities between the jack stand carrier and point of contact with the vehicle. The lever on the side of the jack stand is used ONLY to permit lowering the jack post back to its stowed position once the vehicle has been removed from the jack stand and is being supported by the car jack or the tires are back against the ground.

Yea when I bought I thought it crank too but it doesn't, and there is no piece missing the reason it ask to bend that part is just so the black part won't come off .

    Hi,

I just purchased these jack stands, and the description states they are double locking. There is only one pawl to lock into the teeth and there is no other locking mechanism. Can you tell me how they are considered double locking? Thanks
