AutoCraft 10 in 1 LED Roadside Emergency Flare

The people who designed the packaging and case of this object, and wrote the "specifications" did a poor job. I thought it looked just like an amber-light model someone had shown me a few months earlier, so I bought it -- after trying to tell the LEDs color by looking at it thorugh the shrink-wrap and clear lenses (couldn't be sure) and searching all over the package for a notation identifying the color. Assumed it was the AMBER model -- but turned out to be the RED model (unsuitable and generally illegal for the uses I needed it for). Couldn't return it because you had to destroy the package to get it out, and find out the color. On AAP's site, unde "spec..." they say the color is "orange" -- the color of the case. USELESS info!

This thing has very limited usefulness, because it's RED. Use only as a flare, or on STATIONARY vehicles or obstacles. There was an AMBER version that was enormously valuable and useful, but THIS one can quickly get you arrested for illegal use of a flashing red light. It's OK for official emergency-services vehicles, of course, as a quick-and-dirty accessory for them, but no one's going to think it conveys much authority, given how small it is. Offers various blinking modes, and minimal white "flashlight" function. Uses ordinary AA batteries, but probably not for a long duration. They should bring back the AMBER model, and PROMOTE it.

I had to return one of because the batteries where extremely corroded. I was able to return the item and was able to have another one the next day
