When you depress the pedal to switch gears, the pedal should automatically return to the upright position after you take your foot from it. When this does not happen, this is an indication that the clutch master cylinder needs to be replaced. Another sign that the clutch master cylinder needs to be replaced is excessive leaking of clutch fluid. Perhaps your clutch pedal seems to work well, but the vehicle does not go into gear. This can be a sign that your master clutch cylinder needs to be replaced.
