The gap on the plugs were suppose to be pre set at 0.60 but they were set at 0.40 I set the proper gap installed plugs, truck runs better than it has in years. I have 2004 Silverado 5.3 engine, 122,000 miles. The valves even quit taping. Have been using a differant brand. Just hope these hold up better to water than the brand I was using, because water killed them.

Product was not faulty, plugs were new. Online part matching was incorrect! DON'T TRUST EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET! I went to the store after installation (plugs were in for 30 minutes throwing multiple cylinder misfire codes) and an employee was able to tell me double platinum is not recommended (despite the recommendation from the website) for my 05 2500HD. I needed Iridium. After a quick swap in store and re-install I was on my way with no issues. I would recommend calling into a store prior to purchasing to ensure you have the right plug. I have been doing tune ups for some time now (decades) and this is the first time I have experienced this. I would recommend ACDELCO to a friend as long as they are the right plug.

Replaced stock plugs. They work the same, hard to review a spark plug. Can't say anything negative about them.

Hi Keith, I'm happy to help you! This ACDelco Professional Double Platinum Spark Plug - Part No. 41-962 is pre-gapped at 0.040"-inch from the factory. All the spark plugs are pre-gapped from the factory, the fact remains that the gap must be adjusted for the vehicle that the spark plug is intended for. Those with modified engines must remember that a modified engine with higher compression or forced induction will typically require a smaller gap settings.

I'm happy to help, Mark! These ACDelco Professional Double Platinum Spark Plugs (Part No. 41-962 and 41-805) are indicated to fit many of the same vehicles with a gap of .040. Part No. 41-805 is indicated to fit 763 vehicles while Part No. 41-962 is indicated to fit 462 vehicles. The specifications for both plugs are the same and will work equally well in your 2005 GMC Yukon SLT 5.3L V8.
