This pan does not fit 2002 Explorers ,even in the description says it's a exact fit, this pan has 18 bolt holes. 2002 Ford Explorers requires 16 bolts. Also the drain plug with the filler nut. This one just comes with a normal drain plug. Complete waist of time and money.
Bottom Line not recommended

When I received this product, I noticed it had a minute scratch and dent on the surface where it attaches to the transmission with a gasket. Although the imperfections would probably not have affected the seal, I did not want to take a chance and have to drain my transmission all over again and I wouldn't be able to return the product after that. I decided to clean up my old pan and use that. When I returned the pan, there was over $20 deducted off the return amount. I also noticed on the receipt the manager indicated " customer did not need". I thought her indicating this may have something to do with not getting my full amount back. She was very rude and even lied about her having an option about indicating it was damaged. She did show me her entry and she did have an option to enter it was damaged, but then she wouldn't be able to restock the product, since in her estimation, the item wasnt damaged. Another clerk was listening and even ignorantly chimed in that once you drive the car, a rock would most likely bounce up and cause damage anyways. That has nothing to do with the mating surface where you attach the gasket, so I didn't even go there with that. Anyways, the manager did write on the slip that I said it was scatched and initial it with her manager number. And the return online indicated I did receive almost a full amount back( I did have a discount on the order). However my contention at the store could have been avoided with a proper receipt and better customer service. I am not a difficult person. The radiator I received recently was originally given to me in error. I was given the wrong part number at the store and didn't realize it until I tried to put it in. I brought it back and was politely give the correct one. No problem, I realize all people sometimes make mistakes. But not all people have to be rude, lie, and have poor customer service skills. Is that what gets them to be promoted to management? Three other auto parts stores are 1 mile fromme
