    Replaced twice and oil leaked on left rear side. Part does not fit. Hangs over the edge and doesn't seal. Got a Chevrolet valve cover and fit properly.

    I purchased this Dorman valve cover and noticed that the left side of the valve cover kept leaking oil and was causing a major oil leak. I then went to go purchase another one thinking it was something maybe the mechanic did but ran into the same exact problem. Ran into this problem for 3 weeks straight! After 2 valve covers later and multiple mechanics trying to figure out what the problem is, we later discovered it had nothing to do with the installation as it has been installed correctly. It was because the left side of the Dorman valve cover had a huge gap from the gasket where it should be sealed tightly (looks like Dorman got their dimensions wrong). Went and got a Chevrolet part and was informed that a lot of people have been running into this issue with this part even though when I tried to call the advance store I purchased it from they tried to make it seem like I didn't know what I was talking about and that "maybe it could be something else". You'll come out cheaper just buying a genuine Chevrolet part anyway. Hope this helps someone!

    I installed it twice, it leaked both times. Took it into a shop, the manager told me that they had had problems with that brand of aftermarket, that I had installed it correctly. They installed an OE part and it worked the first time. returning the part
