      Stay away from remanufactured starters

      For a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport, the Carquest Remanufactured starters don't work well. I had 2 in a row fail the exact same way; pulling too many amps for the rest of the ignition system to start the vehicle properly. Both starters would work the first 2-3 times, and then pulls so many amps that it resets every computer system and can't run at all. Both had been tested by AAP (after installation and removal). I will never buy a remanufactured starter ever again. I figured the first starter was a fluke, the 2nd one failing the same way is a process/factory issue. To be fair, this may be a supply lot issue, but I've lost all faith and trust in remanufactured parts. Additionally, the Limited Lifetime Warranty only covers ONE defect replacement, any additional you are out of pocket...buyer beware.
